When selected, the treatment incorporates professional dermaplaning. This physical exfoliation method utilizes a sterile, surgical-grade blade held at a precise 45-degree angle to gently abrade the stratum corneum. This process instantly removes accumulated, non-viable corneocytes (dead skin cells) and vellus hair ("peach fuzz"). By clearing this superficial barrier, the skin's micro-relief is smoothed, and the transdermal delivery of subsequent topicals is drastically increased.

Photobiomodulation (Red Light Therapy)

Our advanced Level 2 protocol integrates clinical Red Light Therapy (630–660nm). Contraindications: Who Is Not a Candidate?

This advanced multi-modality treatment may not be appropriate for individuals who:

• Are currently taking Accutane® (isotretinoin) or have used it within the past 6 months.

• Have active cystic acne flares, open wounds, cuts, or skin infections (dermaplaning cannot be performed over raised or active lesions).

• Have active cold sores or a history of herpes simplex outbreaks without preventative antiviral medication.

• Experience extreme skin hyper-sensitivity, severe rosacea flare-ups, or uncontrolled inflammatory conditions.

• Have an active sunburn or have experienced excessive UV exposure within the last 72 hours.

• Suffer from light-triggered epilepsy, migraines, or take photo-sensitizing medications (disqualifies the use of Red Light Therapy).

• Have recently undergone aggressive chemical peels, laser resurfacing, or facial waxing within the restricted healing window.

Pre-Care Instructions

To protect your skin barrier and ensure a safe, effective treatment:

• Discontinue retinol, Ret-A®, tretinoin, tazarotene, and all other Vitamin A derivatives 72 hours prior to your appointment.

• Avoid alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs) and beta-hydroxy acids (BHAs) (e.g., glycolic, salicylic, lactic acids) and physical facial scrubs for 48 to 72 hours before your session.

• Do not wax, thread, or use depilatory creams on the face for 5 to 7 days prior to treatment (to avoid over-sensitizing the skin before dermaplaning).

• Avoid direct, unprotected sun exposure, tanning beds, or spray tans for at least 72 hours.

• Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin if possible, and notify your provider of any recent cosmetic injectables (Botox/Filler) within the past 2 weeks.

Post-Care & Maintenance Guidelines

Following your advanced customized facial:

• Apply broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily. Your freshly exfoliated skin is highly susceptible to UV damage and hyperpigmentation.

• Avoid direct sun exposure and excessive heat for at least 24 to 48 hours.

• Pause all active skincare—including retinoids, vitamin C, chemical exfoliants, and facial scrubs—for 48 to 72 hours post-treatment. Wash with a gentle cleanser and keep the skin barrier saturated with a rich, plain moisturizer.

• Refrain from saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs, and intense workouts for 24 hours to prevent sweat rash or unnecessary skin irritation.

• Do not pick, scratch, or peel any localized flaking that may occur after extractions or dermaplaning.

• Drink plenty of water to maintain cellular hydration from the inside out.

For long-term skin health, structural anti-aging support, and optimal preventative maintenance, we recommend booking this Level 2 customized facial every 4 to 6 weeks.
