All Customized Chemical Peels at Agápē Aesthetics and Wellness are performed by a Licensed Aesthetician and skincare professional. Treatments are administered according to established aesthetic best practices and under the medical direction of our supervising medical provider when required.
Who Is Not a Candidate? (Contraindications)
Absolute Contraindications
This treatment cannot be performed on individuals who:
Are currently using Accutane® (isotretinoin) or have used it within the past 6 to 12 months.
Have active cold sores, herpes simplex infections, or warts in the treatment area.
Have open wounds, sunburned skin, or active skin infections.
Have a known allergy to aspirin or salicylates (for salicylic acid-based peels).
Are currently pregnant or breastfeeding.
Pre-Care & Post-Care Instructions
Pre-Care (72 Hours Before Treatment):
Discontinue use of retinol, tretinoin, and other Vitamin A products.
Avoid exfoliating acids (AHA/BHA) and physical scrubs.
Avoid excessive sun exposure and tanning.
Do not wax or use depilatory creams on the treatment area.
Post-Care (First 48–72 Hours):
Apply broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily; skin will be temporarily more light-sensitive.
Avoid direct heat (saunas, hot tubs) and excessive sweating.
Do not pick, scratch, or peel any flaking skin, as this can cause scarring or pigmentation.
Maintain hydration using only recommended gentle moisturizers.
